Torticollis and Plagiocephaly
Infants with torticollis may have difficulty turning their heads due to tight neck muscles, which can also contribute to head shape asymmetry (plagiocephaly). Physical therapy focuses on gentle stretching, repositioning techniques, and strengthening exercises to improve range of motion, promote symmetrical movement, and support healthy head shaping. We work closely with families to provide positioning strategies and tummy time activities that encourage proper development. Early intervention is key to preventing long-term movement restrictions and ensuring optimal motor development.
